Getting ready for spring : mom Edition
Lets talk setting Spring Goals as a Mom -
First of all let me start by saying Winter has felt theeeeeee longest I think we have experienced winter. Extreme cold weather has kept most of us inside in “hibernation” and left us feeling well—listless. However, Spring is right around the corner and luckily for us it symbolizes growth and renewal, making it a wonderful time to reset and refocus for both us as parents and our kids.
Here are a few goals to consider….
Embrace the Outdoors
Make it a goal to spend more time outside. Whether its morning coffee on the porch, small family picnics/snack time, or evening walks, fresh air can do wonders for your mind and body.
Organize with a Purpose:
Spring cleaning isn’t just about tidying up it’s an opportunity to create a more functional and peaceful home and finding functionality as the season shifts. Tackle one space at a time and involve your kids by giving them small, age-appropriate tasks.
Prioritize Self-Care:
With warmer weather and longer days, carve out time for yourself. This could mean a new fitness routine, gardening, or simply reading a book in the sunshine.
Plan Seasonal Activities:
Create a spring bucket list with your kids. Include activities like visiting a local farm, planting flowers, or hosting a backyard playdate. This helps create excitement and memories.
When it comes to helping your kids transition from Winter to Spring…
*Note:
Kids often need help adjusting to the seasonal shift, especially when it comes to routines and energy levels.
Gradually Shift Schedules:
With more daylight, bedtime routines might need adjusting. Start by moving bedtime and wake-up times by 10-15 minutes earlier each day until they match the new rhythm.
Refresh Wardrobes Together:
Make sorting through winter clothes a fun activity. Let kids help pack away heavy layers and bring out lighter, colorful spring outfits.
Incorporate Spring-Themed Crafts:
Encourage creativity with spring crafts like painting flower pots or making bird feeders. This not only engages kids but also gets them excited about the changing season.
Reintroduce Outdoor Play:
If winter kept your family indoors, ease into outdoor activities. Start with short playtimes at the park or backyard games, gradually extending as the weather warms up.
Remember Spring is a Season of Growth for both you and your kids…
Spring is not just about nature blooming it’s about our families growing and thriving too. By setting goals as a mom and guiding your kids through the seasonal transition, you’re planting seeds of happiness, structure, and adventure that will have you set for success all season long.
