Hair goals for achieving thick voluminous hair
Achieving thick, voluminous hair often involves a combination of proper care, styling techniques, and lifestyle habits. It’s no secret I have a lot of hair but caring for your hair properly can make a huge difference in achieving the right look.
1. Use the Right Products: Choose shampoos and conditioners formulated for adding volume and thickness. Look for ingredients like biotin, collagen, or keratin. Briogeo is one of my favorite hair brands and carry specialty products for everyone. Be Gentle, Be Kind Banana + Coconut Superfoods Nourishing Hair Value Set
2. Avoid Overwashing!! Washing hair too frequently can strip it of natural oils, leading to limpness. Aim to wash every 2-3 days, or as needed.
3. Use Lightweight Products: Avoid heavy styling products that weigh down hair. (Think the lighter the hair the bigger) Opt for volumizing mousses, sprays, or root lifters instead.
4. Blow Dry Upside Down: For my thin hair girlies try flipping your hair upside down while blow-drying to add volume at the roots.
5. Velcro Rollers: Use velcro rollers to lift roots while blow-drying or air-drying for added volume.
6. Regular Trims: Whether you go in to the salon or know how to do it at home regular trims help prevent split ends and keep hair looking thicker and healthier.
7. Healthy Diet: A balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals, particularly B vitamins, iron, and protein, can promote healthy hair growth.
8. Scalp Massage: Stimulate blood flow to the scalp with regular massages to promote hair growth. Tip: Try using hair tools like a scalp massager before wash day to also help buildup.
9. Limit Heat Styling: Reduce the use of heat styling tools like straighteners and curling irons, as excessive heat can damage hair and make it appear thinner. Tip: If you have thicker hair texture try wearing a protective style to keep your hair from easy breakage.
10. Protect from Damage: Like number nine try to minimize exposure to harsh chemicals, UV rays, and excessive brushing, which can weaken hair strands.
Consistency is key when trying to achieve thicker, voluminous hair. Experiment with different techniques and products to find what works best for your hair type.
